You might have heard the term pay equity, but have you ever heard the term menstrual equity or period poverty? These are terms that I’ve just learned and I want to share them with you for a most enlightening discussion.
My interview is with Christine Garde Denning. She is the Founder and CEO of a ground breaking organization called CouldYou? a 501c3.
Phyllis: I have to say, I had not heard this term: Period Poverty That is the basis of your organization. And I have never heard of period poverty, so I’m surprised at myself because after reading about it from your organization website which is Couldyou.org, I’m amazed that the United Nations and global organizations have taken up this cause.
So can you explain? What is period poverty?
